About HartGrove
At HartGrove Legacy & Academy, we believe that language is not a subject to be studied — it is a tool to be mastered. Not just for examinations, but for the conversations, rooms, and moments that matter most.
We work with learners who are no longer beginners but feel stuck — those who speak English correctly but not yet confidently, fluently but not yet powerfully. Our courses, our stories, and our speech analyses exist for one purpose: to close the gap between knowing the language and commanding it.

Theo-Chris Groenewald is a teacher, award-winning author, and content developer with over a decade of experience in high-stakes English education across four countries — South Africa, Kuwait, China, and Vietnam.
A published author — his book 雅思口语实用进阶指南 (IELTS Speaking Practical Advanced Guide), released by China Science and Technology Press in 2020, remains a practical reference for IELTS Speaking candidates across China — he has taught IELTS preparation at institutions across China and Vietnam, served as Head of Department for English and Liberal Arts in Shanghai, and directed his own language institute across China and South Africa. He holds IDP-certified teacher training qualifications in both IELTS Speaking and IELTS Writing, and conducts IELTS examinations weekly in his current role at Eastern International University in Ho Chi Minh City.
His ongoing research interest is the prosody and articulation of Asian speakers of English — what it sounds like when an idea is said not just correctly, but powerfully.
Why Are They Great?
If you are a parent supporting a child through English learning, we see you. HartGrove produces a Chinese-language Parent Companion Guide for every reading course — so you can follow the story alongside your child, ask the right questions, and be part of the journey rather than watching from the doorway.
Because the best thing a parent can do is not push — it is to be curious alongside.Contact us
